no volume above 3

Good morning

New to the forum but been in the background for a while - couldnt remember my password so registered again!
Recently took the leap from the Discovery side with a lovely 2018 AB 4.4 V8 L405.
I've had a few niggles to sort but on the day of collection the stereo wont go above 3. First world problem i grant you but a PITA nonetheless.
Its been diagnosed as a new amp needed which it will be getting next week. The radio etc worked fine on the test drive but after looking on here i think the delivery driver was playing apple car play and when they removed their device it wet its pants for some reason however i await to be proved wrong!
Its such a lovely engine to listen to but id prefer some music Rolling with laughter

Great looking car, welcome.

Its worth trying to update the entertainment software over the air, you will need a sim for that.
A new version has come out in the past few days. It may help.
Also use a code scanner and see if you can see any faults and reset all faults.

GAP dont work for my MY2018
I use this, cheap as chips it clears DTC found it very useful, it also has other functions read the blurb for full info

When its on volume 3 can you hear sound from the system? does the phone work OK at normal volume? Same for Sat Nav? 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

It is the upgrade version, the older version was too much like the D5 to merit the change. The extra 15k for a new dash and seats was well worth it Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

The dealer has been a struggle - communication mostly but as they are still helping me I shall wait to spill all the beans. The local ones have been very good though and so was the sales manager from the original, its just the little things that piddle you off in the experience in my opinion.

thanks for the link, its apprecaited.

i can hear nothing from the system at all, the phone goes to volume 12 however you cant hear them but they can hear you fine and i havent thought about the sat nav voice tbh

i tried all the press and hold the on button for 60s permutations i could think off and nothing worked hence the dealer option - although i hope i dont inherit a squeak once they take the drivers seat out as that would be annoying!

So from your reply I can see I had a similar issue, It was the Amp Module that was frozen, solution was to remove Fuselink FL16 to reset system and dealer updated module software/firmware as well (so they say lol).

See this thread, shows pics of FL16 position

Your fault might be totally different to my fault, so if you are paying for this then do the fuse pull first Rolling with laughter 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

It’s still under the “it didn’t work when I left here so we need to fix it” section of the warranty Rolling with laughter

I have tunes...................... Laughing
Problem traced to a damaged pin connector to the amp, pin sorted - amp all worky fine now.

Does make me wonder how the sales rep drove from very far away then it damaged itself while getting a wash before handover, hmmmmmmmmmmm!

However I have tv and tunes so all good. Phew.
