Oily smear on intercooler hoses

Noticed last week that there is an oily smear on both intercooler pipes along their full length but no oil anywhere else.

Also think fuel consumption has gone up. Used to get 33mpg on a 250 mile run. Last weekend only got 29. Some maybe to do with the monsoon I was driving through!

Any ideas what is causing this? 2007 3.6 TDV8

I too suffer from this! It’s like looking at my own engine bay (BAS intercooler hoses as well!)

I did have a crack in my OS inlet manifold - epoxy glued this but still slightly oily misting on the hoses……..

Blanked the Egr pipe and after 500 mile round trip no oily smear. Still suspect I may have a leaking inlet system somewhere because no improvement in fuel economy. 2007 3.6 TDV8

Check for clogged MAPT sensors if EGR has been operational.
