Engine/turbo whistle?

I am not really familiar with the TD6 engine, my last car was an old Discovery. I am aware that various turbo engines make whistling sounds sometimes. I noticed that my car makes a short whistle sound when I lift off the throttle. It isn't very loud and cannot really be heard with the windows closed. It s a very brief whistle almost like a bird chirp. My guess it is the turbo running down but like I said I am not really sure. I have completed about 3000 miles and the noise isn't any worse. The car has 90,000 miles. Is this normal? No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

Thanks for that. I didn't want to appear stupid, but I thought I should just check. Smile No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE
