I have dealt with Vertu Mercedes in Reading recently and their aftersales was very poor, I got their CEO Robert involved and he sorted it out very promptly. Apparently they are struggling for decent staff in most dealerships.

Thanks for the kind offer, I was there yesterday viewing the car. It seems ok but I reckon it’s been there a long time. I wondered if it’s just market conditions or something sinister about the car Discovery 4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 Hard Top *Gone:L462 D5 HSE LUX, L663 Defender 110 HSE, Discovery 3 HSE, 2014MY Range Rover Sport 5.0 Supercharged AB Dynamic; L405 Exec Vogue SE 4.4, 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography, Defender TDCi XS CSW, Defender TD5 HT, Vogue SE TDV8, Vogue TD6, RRSport SC 4.2V8, Classic 3.9 Vogue Auto, Land Rover Series 3 SWB |

Is this actually necessary from a JLR Main Dealer these days? They wouldn't buy one in that was dodgy? Interesting it's not a local car even with lots of them being black with black pack around here. Thats a Glasgow area numberplate I think ? I would want a LR warranty that you can use locally without having to revisit Leeds if you have any issues. Good luck with your decision 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

I bought mine from a JLR dealer, glad I had done above, as there was an error with the mileage highlighted by the AA check. many thousands out someone had inputed wrong mileage at a routine service. This created an alert of potential clocking. It was only resolved by dealer sending all the service history and MOT mileage etc to the relevant authority, this was agreed to be done before I bought the car, it was my condition of purchase. i could imagine the delays and excuses if I went to them months after purchase etc etc. It's only pennies in the big scheme of things. Your call of course. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue |

I've used LR Approved warranty at different dealers before. To them its just paid work, which they claim back from JLR. You're correct about its original plate, from Ayr. Its had 3 owners. So, the AA Check shows Finance outstanding and termed as "Unit Stocking" which I think I understand, it seems quite a common thing. It also shows a mileage discrepancy. There's two types of input, NMR (which I think the owner can input at various stages such as finance applications etc) and then the VOSA ones which are input at MOT and Service intervals. The VOSA ones all check out with MOT and Service history but the NMR ones are a few hundred miles out here and there. Apart from the last line which knocks 15,000 miles off! I've asked them to evidence why this is the case.[/quote] Discovery 4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 Hard Top *Gone:L462 D5 HSE LUX, L663 Defender 110 HSE, Discovery 3 HSE, 2014MY Range Rover Sport 5.0 Supercharged AB Dynamic; L405 Exec Vogue SE 4.4, 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography, Defender TDCi XS CSW, Defender TD5 HT, Vogue SE TDV8, Vogue TD6, RRSport SC 4.2V8, Classic 3.9 Vogue Auto, Land Rover Series 3 SWB |

Whilst I understand that fact about saltier roads etc, we don’t get really. Harsh long winters of salty roads and the car is only 4 years old so I’m not too concerned about corrosion. Discovery 4 HSE

It's surprising how much of a picture you can put together once you've got a data check done, looked at the online service history and MOT history.
