I’ve just had the gearbox megaflushed and wow, what a difference! The gear changes are now silky smooth, both up and down. I can thoroughly recommend it if it’s never been done on your 8-speed L322. 2011 TDV8 4.4 Vogue SE in Galway Green with Black leather

Mine had changed gearbox oil twice, first on 85000km (without flush) and now on 125000 (with flush). When compare old and new oil, there was just small difference in color, nothing serious. And no feel any diference in driving. |

85k km works out at 52-53k miles, which is exactly when ZF recommend an oil change

For gearbox smoothness it's also worth getting the latest software version from a garage with the JLR diagnostic tools. This gearbox is also used in the latter L405 so the original software in the L322 is not the latest. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Sorry, only just seen this. I had Bodsy do it in the end. I did enquire with the Alton guys, but Bodsy could come and do it on the drive, which was a lot more convenient than having to drop the car off and collect it later. Nothing against Alton 4x4, I just didn't have the option of dropping it off and picking it up later at the time.
