Successful conclusion to my sunroof adjustment problem!!!

After replacing the battery some months ago I carried out the usual re-set procedures with the windows, the steering wheel lock-to-lock and the sunroof, all of which seemed to work. However, I noticed after this that the rear of the sunroof was well below roof level and tried re-setting again with the same result - the sunroof worked correctly but its 'at rest' position was front level, rear 5mm below the roof. After trolling through a number of posts on this and - ahem - other sites it seemed that I would have to adjust the glass with the screws, but I came across one post that suggested holding the button in the raised (ie re-set) position for at least 45 seconds. This worked and the roof is now correctly adjusted, but I dont understand why there seems to be more than one at rest position. Seems the only thing to do if yours has this is to keep trying the reset until the roof is level...... QUID FACIUM TIBI

Apparently it will give the impression of resetting itself if you only hold it in for a shorter time ie it wont 'bounce' and will go up/down - backwards/forwards with just the single press of the button. This makes it seem like it is correctly set and trolling through the different sites it seems that a number of owners have assumed this, however the 'out of alignment' problem will
only be sorted by the longer button hold. QUID FACIUM TIBI

Thanks!
Mine's sunroof has been noisy at speed for a very long time, yes possibly since the battery was replaced. Today I spotted that the rear was below the roofline but now sits level after finding this thread. Whilst I held the button for about 50 seconds, an adjustment occurred at about 20 seconds then no other adjustment, so maybe only need to hold for more than 20 seconds, at least on later vehicles.
The wind noise has been annoying but hopefully now quiet.
