United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black
After a lot of looking, I’m a new owner of a TDV8.

This late pre facelift 2009 TDV8 Vogue was bought new from Nottingham Stratstone, and has been there for everything since. So if I were to ever get one this was the one, full supplying dealer history (12 services), clear windows and a new turbo a few months ago.

Say hello to Florence.

Yes, probably will give you a flash as we both pass each other trying to get through a narrow street in Hertford!

One question I have is for my classic BMW’s (e30 & e34 touring) I use realoem.com to find the correct part numbers specific to my cars. Is there a Land Rover equivalent?

I always like to double check the oem part number/s when purchasing online, saved me from buying a few mislabelled parts in the past.

Microcat is the Lr equivalent, pops up in various places, but tbh haven’t used it for a bit so not sure of the latest site you can look at. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I posted another thread about Oil on here and a member (GaryRR) posted a link to a place to buy parts from, I found that they have diagrams with oem part numbers along with illustrations. Very handy.

The TDV8 page for anyone who’s interested: https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/range-ro...12-7-c.asp

Went for my first long-ish run today to Cambridge and back to see a friend, enjoyed floating along in comfort. I reset the trip log before setting off on the way back, although I drove slowly (no more than 70mph) I was quite pleased with 32mpg for the mainly motorway trip.

How accurate is the onboard calculator? The owner before me seemed to average 27mpg on what I presume was a mixed cycle.

Overestimtes by about 2-3% so if it was 32 mpg, in reality to is 28-29 which is still good but it will go down to 25 ish if you do some town stop and start driving. I got a real time (fill brim to brim) 31mpg travelling up to Yorkshire (260 miles).

Thought it was too good to be true. With my classic cars I fill to the first click of the fuel pump handle, use the car until I feel ready to fuel up again - then do my calculations. I will start doing that with the Range Rover but only when I am ready for the bill to get it to the first click! Got to £100 today and thought ‘that’s enough for now…’.

Not to open a can of worms on here but I have some Diesel Redex in my shed that I got for my wife’s ever reliable Honda Civic, snake oil or not I guess it won’t harm anything by putting a shot in every full(ish) tank till the bottle is empty?

For what it’s worth I use standard Esso diesel, but use Esso’s 99ron Supreme Plus unleaded in my classic cars as it contains 0% Ethanol despite the E5 label on the pump handle.

On the later 4.4 the ECU is setup to read 7% optimistic so assume it's true also on the 3.6? When (not if Wink ) you get the GAP IID tool you can reset this. You really shouldn't be concerned with mpg if you are buying an L322 Rolling with laughter 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

More interested than concerned! I have bought one with my eyes open which is why it’s taken about two years to find one that I hope will treat me well within reason!

Can you explain why the ECU is set at 7% optimistic?
