The BMW based cars do not have a touchscreen at the front. If yours doesn’t, your only option is to buy a BMW Mk 4 sat nav unit. It will look like your existing one but will say DVD in white on the front. You won’t be able to go newer than that as the data network it uses is different.

yes it is very poor form for lots of these ebay sellers to be selling DVD units that are not MK4, they are older MK3 CD units, I guess they are hoping to catch people out, or they just don't care and assume all the Range Rover units are DVD ones

Result there then. Think v32 is the latest firmware BMW offered. There are videos on the net about how to change the splash screen and firmware etc.

I have the Land Rover splash screen file. I updated mine from the BMW splash screen of the Mk 4 using a file from one of the members here. Sorry, his name escapes me at the moment. It’ll come to me later. Ron B. VK2OTC
