United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Ipanema Sand
Fuel Rail Pressure Implausible

Hi all
Going to attempt to solve this 1 more time, if not ill live forever with it!!

2004 TD6.. Car drove perfect, but had a large diesel leak from one of the 3 heads on the High pressure Fuel pump. No other symptoms.

I removed the pump and fitted a seal kitted .. replaced the pump and leak was fixed.

issue started immediately

Car now starts fine. No leaks, but at 3000rpm I get a “Fuel Injection system” fault warning. Car starts to loose power (not all but like limp mode) and jerks badly through the gears.

Icarsoft shows it as “Fuel Rail Pressure Implausible”.
It clears with icarsoft and drives fine again until 3000 rpm again?

Anyone any ideas where to start?

This issue never exsisted before i worked on the high pressure pump. I’ve double checked the electrical connectors. It had an inline pump (in front of rear wheel) recently

I have changed the Fuel Pressure sensor at the rear of the engine.. No change.

Only thing i didnt change was inlet manifold gaskets (as couldnt get them here in time)
Or is next step throw a recon High Pressure pump on @ £400?

I "can" live with not going over 3000rpm.. and have done for 10 months.. But as its the only fault on the car, id like to try and cure it.

Thanks so much

P.s.. Car drove perfect before re-kitting this pump.. No injector problems or anything.. So guessing its something i have touched.

Cheers

Thanks in advance

Get a leak off test done on the injectors?

If the fuel rail pressure is too high, either an injector or more could be sticking or the fuel pump is faulty and providing too high fuel pressure?

Obvious one also - changed the fuel filter recently? 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
