A new key

Hi All

Back with another range rover to replace my one written off by a drunk youth, on the phone, on the wrong side of the road.

I digress, my replacement 2008 FFRR only came with one key......

I have an ID tool, so what do I need from Ebay etc, as there is conflicting advice from previous posts on if it can be done or not on a 2008 with a dash mounted barrel.

I have an old key from the written off RR, but thats from the 2004 BMW era, so a transponder could be raided from that.

whats the cheapest/best route?

Best wishes

TD5 Disco, Disco 3, 200Tdi Disco - probably the best vehicle Landrover ever made,
Now 3x FFRR, some would say I should have learned by now......

As far as I'm aware, smart key vehicles (keyless start) can be programmed by the IID but 2006-2010 without smart keys cannot. Don't quote me on that however because, I'm not entirely sure.

Not to worry though. I had a 2006 with only 1 key. I found a good auto locksmith who programmed and cut me a 2nd key for £60 (plus the cost of the part - £15). The job took about 20/25 minutes. He's based in Sussex - I can pass you his details if you wish but any *good* auto locksmith can do the job. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
