Immobilised

Well I can confirm my FFRR does have a sense of humour!

First date night in 4months with baby sitter booked, FFRR in the drive entrance, freshly washed and cleaned inside and out…….would it start????

Looks like immobiliser isn’t coming off! Everything else is moving and whirring, glow plugs go out, steering wheel unlocks and extends but there is a missing noise from when they key is inserted. Is this likely to be a solanoid issue? Or an ignition issue?

Anyway to finish 3 helpful fellas coming back from the pub helped push it 300yds onto a side road where it still sits! L322 TD6 2003

So the sorry tale continues….mechanic turned up to have a look and….it started first time, every time!!! I swear it’s got a sense of humour!

As there are no fault codes what are likely root causes? Forgive my ignorance but are these likely;

- key - for taking immobiliser off - guessing not as both keys had no effect
- Ignition unit itself, rotates and take’s steering lock off, dash lights up etc
- immobiliser, is this a dedicated unit? Or could it just be a solenoid? L322 TD6 2003
