Final Stage Resistor FSR recommendations

Hi all,

I’m replacing my FSR as the one I have only works for settings 0 to 3. There are quite a few cheap ones for sale like this, but it’s been frustrating me for a while so I purchased another albeit different one from Amazon (Brand -KOVEBBLE), only to find it was the same. To be fair there were some other reviews that also indicated it only works on low setting levels.

I called JLR Milton Keynes and they wanted £176 + VAT, which seems crazy. I know others on here had them from stealers albeit a few years back for sub £40.

Any recommendations of where to buy one / which brand that 1) lasts a decent amount of years and 2) is low price ?

By the way. - one to avoid is this one

Many thanks -------------------------------------

I got one from fleabay that was meant for a BMW, and was supposed to be original but when I got it it didn't have and part numbers (BMW) on the side, It did fit and its working so far, that was a few months ago.... Still seem to get same soft codes on scanner, as long as it works....its winter on the other side. 😢

Well worth the extra price for a genuine one unless you like changing them... mind you it doesn't take that long to change... IMHO the pattern ones don't last long... you maybe lucky though...... Thumbs Up Pete

I had a couple of cheapies that worked but prevented full shutdown.

Bit the bullet & bought a genuine one from JLR - it was around £50 a few years ago, but it worked as it should.

I fitted a Meyle 314 880 0000 to my 2012 model about 3 years ago and it’s been fine. It is specifically for BMW X3/5 but is identical to the JLR part they cost about £36. 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23
