Manual unlock? (Locked out, key fob not working)

Hey guys
So i know most cars will have a manual unlock, with a small hole to release the door handle clip etc

However, does the 2007 L322 not have this? (Or am I being stupid/have the handles been upgraded by previous owner?)

I'm now locked out the car, key fob doesn't work.

Alarm was going on and off consistently for about 10 minutes too, with no way to stop it.

Any ideas?

Are they handle covers..? if they are you will feel an edge where they go over the originals, some come without the key hole so you have to remove the drivers small cover, they are stuck on with double sided tape so can take a bit of doing... Pete

I'll take another look in the morning. Handy to know which side it should be ok, and how the covers attach too. Thanks!

Alarm has stopped for now anyway, so I feel less guilty for the neighbours!

If you buy a set like this you get the option.... you can see the shape of the handles in some of the pictures so you can see what you are looking for........

I managed to prise this off earlier today, and manual unlock worked.

Needed a jump start, and all seems fine.

Any idea's why this would have happened in the first place?

I got home, locked car, about 10 minutes later, car alarm going off and unable to use key fob to unlock the car.

Earlier today, manual unlock, car wouldnt start (key would not turn in lock) - Jump started from another car, worked fine.

Bad battery? Bad starter motor? Bad alternator? Big Cry

If you have no warnings showing I would guess at a dying battery..... Pete

You can measure the alternator output while the car is running. But if it was really bad it would be giving you a warning on the dash (red battery sign) and several beeps from the boot area buzzer or whatever is in there. I think there are no alternator related codes to be pulled but don't take my word for it as it's experience from the M62.
Ruling out a bad battery, as Pete suggests, would be my first port of call.
