Header tank removal and coolant drain

Hi All
I'm just on the last leg of getting my 4.4 TDV8 on the road and need to sort out the phantom low coolant warning. Apparently removing the header tank, cleaning and refilling with fresh coolant is the way forward and I wonder if anyone has an extract from Topix showing how to do it. I'd be very grateful if someone does.

Thanks

Not a major job. I replaced the header tank with a new one as you can't buy the sensor on its own. Malting 4x4 do one at a very reasonable price.

Assuming you're working on a right-hand drive vehicle, remove the intake pipe and airbox on the driver's side.

You can now get at the relevant clips and bolts to release the header tank. You'll lose some coolant but just follow the bleeding instructions and all will be well.

Airbox out;

Dunc. The life you have is the only one you'll get; make the most of it.
