Intermittent starting problems

Hi All,

600miles from home on the tour of Speyside, just started to get an intermittent problem after the car has been sitting for a while it won’t start. It basically;

- key in, turns
- lights on dashboard come on
- steering wheel comes out
- glow plugs light goes off
- continue turning key……nothing, no attempt to turn over etc

Repeat the process 2, 3 or 4 times including key out etc and it starts as normal

Any ideas as to the culprit and how to rectify? Also anyone had the same experience, as we’ve 10 days still up here and don’t want to get stranded if there’s a quick fix.

Many thanks,
