Standard exhaust is pleasantly quiet until you get the red line coming up on the screen, motorway use is "calm and serene". Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

No experience of a std 5.0 405, but in the 322 it was extremely muted with factory std exhausts - so much so I think it spoilt the effect a bit as could have ben any powerful engine and not necessarily a lovely big V8 - no rumble/gurgle. Move on to the SVA and its back in spades. I love the noise it makes when trying, and the serene silence when not trying. The only down side is its initial roar on start up which can be embarassing if anyone thinks you meant to do it for some reason! So I'd suggest looking for an SVA system if you get the chance.
