Lots on the subject on the forum if you search it.
You hit on lots of things in your post which you need to narrow down:
1. Hot and A/C impacted or just A/C? If both, look at 2 and 3. If just A/C, go straight to 4
2. Cabin temperature sensor
3. Mixers
4. A/C compressor
Are you sure it's working in the rear or are you referring to the blower speed? It all runs off the same system so anything coming through the ventilation tubes to the rear is the same as to the front, with the exception of a blower speed and mixer control. There is a mixer for Front left, front right and rear (makes that easier to diagnose).
You also reference heating. Hot air comes from the heater matrix and air conditioned air comes via the compressor and a/c system It's unlikely you'd have a fault with both so, I think a bit more info is needed! If it is both, then your most likely cause is the cabin temperature sensor which is part of the a/c panel in the front dash. It has a fan on it which can get clogged with dust and impact the sensor's ability to operate effectively but it's not common for these to fail on the 2011 cars.
Is the air conditioning intermittent? There's a *very* common issue on this engine with the refrigerant control valve on the air conditioning compressor failing. Any amount of re-gassing won't resolve the issue. The answer is a new compressor, given the compressor has to be removed to change it anyway.
Almost always the cause of inoperative/intermittent A/C on the 4.4 TDV8 is the valve on the compressor but this doesn't impact cabin heating. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
