it is totally random and there is no pattern to it, some times i can go 4 or 5 days without smoke and then get 2 or 3 days with smoke, the amount of smoke is complete random as well, some times i can just about see it then some times it covers the street ,

Hopefully someone who has had similar will be along shortly, if not it sounds like you need a good independent garage to take a look...

You will probably find more info on the Jaguar forums over here and the US forums for the RR as it was far more common over there... Pete

Good morning, how did the situation develop with your problem? Was it successfully resolved? I have the same thing in my 4.2sc in my Jaguar and I have not found an answer anywhere on the forums, the steps I did the same as you. |

All the usual will apply the SC isn't that different in that respect from other petrol motors, blue smoke is most likely oil finding it's way into the cylinders.

Temporarily remove the PCV pipe from the throttle connector (and seal the TB connection ) and let it vent to the air or into a 'catch can' . If this fixes it you can narrow your diagnostics to the PCV system. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

In my case it is that it is the oil typically from the PCV system through the pipe that collects in the throttle elbow. Compression checked, after 12b evenly, plugs new, at full load the streak does not leave, collects oil when driving calmly and at idle. PCV valve replaced with original but I think I will repeat this action and certainly install Oil Catch Tank on this tube, I will see what amounts of this oil will collect. |
