While getting the tyres changed over today , the tyre fitter told me that the best type of tyre for 4x4's are Bridgestone as they are made from a stronger compound , yet everyone swears by Conti's or Pirellies .

I would go for either Goodyear or Pirelli, they are reasonably priced, never had a problem with either and they are OEM which appeals to me more than anything. Michelin would be another good option but they tend to be more expensive.

I also try and stick to stock tyres, that way if you burst one and need a replacement, likely that someone is selling some cheap on ebay or your local place can get them ok.
