After months of staring at the scratched and chipped plastic chrome / stainless gear switch panel, I finally pulled it out, and replaced with a new one, painted with 3 coast of gloss black and 2 coast of clear lacquer. 28 mins to switch over.

I know, disgusting, I took that panel off before, and it was beyond disgusting, things were growing in the carpet. It really makes you wonder how these things keep going, with all the electrics close to the drinks holder.
