Please would someone be able to say what this small green tube is. It appears to be going to the brake callipers on the front near side ( passenger side ).

Thanks @Diesel-Dave. Is the green tube a protective sheaf or is that the whole thing ? It seems so flimsy that I wonder if there is a electrical wire inside the PVC tube. TDV8 4.4 2012 |

Wire inside, once pad wears down to the wire, it goes open circuit and brings in your dash light |

The green sheath is the whole thing.

Yes its a protective cover, there is a wire in there but its only a sensor wire, IE when the sensor on the pad touches the disk the ECU gives you a message you have worn pads. I never like to say you’ll be ok to leave it with brakes, however the worse you could get is a false worn pads warning, or none at all if broken then the pads touch the disc with a scoring noise as in the old days. |

Mine was fine with one of the sensors off for about a month - no warning light or anything. |
