Disconect battery for a month

2007 tdv8, I would like to know if there will be any ill effects if I disconnected the battery and remove the engine ECU for a month. I live in Australia and will be visiting the UK in July. I want to bring my ECU for a bench remap but I am concerned there might be issues. Another option is to buy a 2nd hand ECU and get that remapped, are the ecu`s interchangeable and plug and play or must they be coded to a specific vehicle? 2007 TDV8 VSE

2007 tdv8, I generally have fewer ill effects with the battery disconnected!

(left mine disconnected for almost 2 months, all the same problems remained when I reconnected). L322 3.6 TDV8 Vogue. 07MY

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue

My L322 has been in various states of repair since February.

Since February it's had the battery disconnected the majority of the time with it only being refitted to start the car and raise the air suspension before disconnecting it again.

I've certainly not noticed any problems with it being disconnected for long periods. It was off for over a month last year too. Thumbs Up

The transit relay will effectively disconnect the battery for shipping to places such as erm, Australia - which can take many weeks.
I wouldn't worry about it.

Your ECM will be coded to your vehicle and not interchangeable easily, get yours remapped and hope it's not confiscated by customs at either end!
