Removing Colour from Range Rover lettering

What’s the best and safest way to get the silver off the RANGE ROVER lettering? I’ve a mix of silver and black and want to tidy it up for the moment until I get time to replace the letters at the bodyshop later in the year L322 TD6 2003
Epsom Green- the dogs car which has worked it’s way into being the family car 😮

I can't help with your actual question, but this is the cheapest place I've found for new lettering -

I recently changed the front lettering on my L322 using letters from an etsy store. Pretty much identical in look/shape/size/quality as the originals!

Made a quick video on how I changed them if that's allowed to be posted here -

Thanks for the video - I've got mine sitting there waiting to be done.

Good to see the glue comes off OK - I was expecting to need a hairdryer - and may still do a little pre-warming.

Another tip I was given is to use the cardboard template - put it in place with the old letters, then masking tape across the top - then fold up and out of the way to remove the letters, then back down to fit the new ones.

This tool or similar is use for removing double sided tape which is what the Range Rover lettering is stuck on with.
Use a heat gun to warm up the letter and double sided tape, when warm use plastic scraper to remove letter…better to do one at a time. Once you have them all off use the tool in link to remove all the remaining double sided tape, then grab a clean soft rag and small amount of wax n grease remover to get rest of tape off.
After all lettering removed get some good quality polish and polish the area you are going to fit new lettering….fit new letters with templates….job done.
