Balanced Brake disks

Ordered genuine LR rear disks and noticed different length cutout grooves on the outer edge which I assume is material removed to balance them given their size and mass.
Anyone seen this on non LR disks? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

All brake discs have to be balanced, otherwise they'd play hell with the dynamics and give you persistent wheel bearing issues.
IIRC OEM ones are +/- 1.8g., aftermarket ones are usually a greater tolerance which increases as the price decreases.

Hi,

yes just fitted rear discs, pads, shoes none gen and as above ^ they have machining slots to the discs.

Tyres can also have marks on them to aid the fitters before balancing, ISTR yellow or Red dots to show the heavy spot of the tyre.

your going to be looking for the spots now aren't ya Laughing

tis true Thumbs Up
