1st Camping trip with the TDV8, Trailer brakes working fine with the in car controller. I built a led shunt box to stop the trailer lights continuously flashing, again that worked perfectly. In a remote bush camp upstream from Wellington Dam West Oz. Shall be having a nice fire tonight

Nice video how is the car performing?

I should do a bit of a write up in the " My Range Rover" section on my journey so far with the TDV8. For now, all I will say is I should have got one sooner, was hanging out for the 4.4 but very happy with the 3.6. At the end of this trip, I got properly bogged after a rookie mistake. I knew I had to take a hard left going through a very soft sand area but not sure where it would spring up. I saw the turn coming with time to get up momentum, the wife shouted thats not the place and I hit the brakes After 15 mins of digging in front of all 6 wheels I thankfully drove out.. the next few miles were very quiet in the car  2007 TDV8 VSE

Why is it the wife always tells me I should have turned after I have gone passed, Something I already know when I have missed the turn? I'm the driver SHMBO is the navigator but it's my fault for going too fast happy days

A bit of info on Solar power. I have a big MPPT solar controller which is in constant use in my garage and in the car when camping. With this new trailer, I wanted a panel fixed on top so charging all the time when on the move. My MPPT is not waterproof so decided to buy a used waterproof one. I found one at a steal of A$10, a real MPPT but could not pick it up before this trip. I decided to try an old PWM controller, the very cheap eBay sort and was waiting for it to melt as soon as I connected it up. To my surprise it not only worked, but it was also flawless so although not recommended they seem to do the job for a bargain price. The PWM was rated at 10a, the panel is 200w 39v open circuit and the trailer has 2 100ah AGM batteries. I now have the waterproof MPPT.

I'm in the process of changing my 100amp lead-acid to 110amp lithium, also changing my 100watt solar to a 330watt solar, 1500watt inverter, mppt controller, none of it is cheap over here, this going to be fitted on the caravan.

If you look in the right places you can pick up used house panels for free, I have a 275w on my garage roof. My MPPT with Bluetooth monitoring and control was A$114, it will do lithium too. I get used AGM batteries changed out from fire systems for A$50. Lithium is too expensive for me. We have a 6.75kw system on the house roof and also a separate 300lt solar water heater. We don't have power bills, in fact we get money back. I love solar. 2007 TDV8 VSE
