Just a quick couple of questions - the right front lower control arm on the l322 needs the bush replacing. The outer metal of the bush has pretty much rusted and crumbled away! I was just going to replace the arm for a Meyle one from AF.

1. Should I do both sides while at it?
2. Will it need an alignment afterwards?

Yes do both sides. I used Delphi and they are decent. Do not use britpart under any circumstances. Have a look at my project page (link below) for the reason why.

You'll probably need an alignment (I took mine for one) but the lower arms don't actually have any adjustment on the bolt heads.

Make sure the car is on the ground before doing up the bolts - this is easier than it sounds. Getting the final 90° on the pinch bolt is a challenge. Christian.

Don't worry - Britpart never goes near my land rovers... gave up on them about 15years ago!

I have a four post ramp so can do it on there to help with the final tighten. It looks possible on the ramp without taking the wheel off. Is that a bad idea?!

Thats what I thought about alignment adjustment but I suppose play due to the worn bush might have been compensated for elsewhere (as it was done recently)

That's good to know. Problem with the BP lottery is that you never know if its going to be the worst crap ever to come out of China or the originals made in the OEM factory.

Meyle arent all bad are they? Seem to be a lot happily using them on the D3 forum. Having said that if I can get Lemforder or Delphi at a decent price I will go that way.

I know you have said before that BP have improved Mikey but they have lost a lot of potential customers over the years by selling dire parts so its hard to trust the brand again.

Delphi are only a few quid more than BP from LRDirect.
What swayed me initially is BP have a two year warranty. It’s not a a stretch to assume they might be pretty good with a warranty that long. Problem seems to be you’ll need it 🤦‍♂️ Christian.
