My wife picked up a new Cooper S today after an 8 month wait, having had 2 Coopers in a row. She can confirm that the Cooper S is ‘more fun’ than the old Cooper. It’s no surprise that she uses more fuel than I do when she ‘borrows’ the FullFat….

This will be an R56, so a turbo. We had a JCW version, basically a Cooper S with performance enhancements. In seven years of ownership it went through 3 lambda sensors, 5 chain tensioners, fuel pump and clutch/DMF. Also drank oil, a common feature of that engine; basically, one litre per 1000 miles.

Wow that’s some list, now looking at cooper versions too. It’s me that wants an s lol, we’d be helping buy so I wanted something to “borrow” now and again. Limited pool with it must be white and auto, thinking about upping the budget and we can give her a few quid towards finance, can get a 2015 for an extra few quid per month, kind of makes sense .. |
