hi all

need summer tyres. Got the car with pirelli scorpion snow and ice which were good.

I dont do heavy offroading but from time to time I drive offroad or tow a horse box..

Planed to go to French Alps for some offroading but its all gravel,so I dont think I need an ATR.

I got a quite good offer for Continental Cross Contact UHP (255/50/20)

How good are these?

From my experience in 255/50/20 pretty quiet but scrub unbelievably badly on the front edges,

Don't think I'd buy them again.

I suppose it depends on how cheap they are!

if I buy them new they are around 1300 CHF for for tires. (280£ per tyre)

I got an offer for 4 tires (2000Miles) for 600 CHF= 400 £

good price? How are the tires for light offroad?

(I had scorpion snow& ice and was more or less satisfied with their offroad ability)

alternative would be pirelli scorpion STR.
but these I would have to buy new and pirelli is always expensive..

I now have these tyres on the car. They are good.

Did a bit of offroading in France (mostly gravel and rocks) no problem.

On the road everything is okay. No problems at all.
