I replaced the tailgate when I had a TD6 and kept the glass, think a windscreen company charged me about £60 to remove the factory tint glass and replace with my clear one. Was a few years ago though, perhaps 7 or 8….

Body shop did the wiring swap. I think it’s fed down one side. I’m sure there was a specific post somewhere about swapping the tailgate.

Thanks again. There is something on YouTube but the chap did it his job himself changing the whole unit including the glass but presented the wiring problem he faced. I know now the score when talking to a body shop who can do as the factory build method.

My 2008 had a bit on the tailgate but my current 2011 is immaculate - apart from a bit of bubbling and discolouration just showing around the drivers side window frame.
