Insurance time

Anyone else on here feel like they've had their trousers pulled down on them this year with the insurance cowboys. Mines up for renewal so call to Adrian flux and it's gone up a further £400. Best price they can do is drop it to a £350 increase making a total of £1550 for the year. Granted I live in East London but its a clapped out 2006 4.2.

Done some searching around and direct line even said I'm looking at £4k with them. Other then that prices have been anything from £1200 up to £18000.

My first year owning a 4.4 range was only £600 as well. Hoping too call a plan tomorrow so we will see what's going to happen there

That sounds steep. Is it parked on street?

I’m with Admiral and annualised increase of £75 going from 2009 1.4 golf to 2007 4.2SC. Total now £280 per year. Not east London but still Essex.

Just insured mine with !st. Central - 3.6TDV8 2008MY for £332 (not Londinistan), £420 cheaper than Provident wanted, they were my insurer for the last four years with a Disco3 and my last renewal was £318.

I went through Money Supermarket, which may or may not have made a difference.

Try Tesco. I know i am in the east midlands but the discrepancy between your quote and my premium does seem excessive.

I paid £193 in January, parked on drive, 5000 miles and my wife as second driver (which can make a big difference), £300 excess.

Hope that helps in some way.

Just been online done a few more quotes. Still all ridiculous prices. Tescos come back at £2500 fully comp and £2800 for tpft.

1st choice have come up at £750 though so think I'll just go with them to be honest.

Changed the policy a bit as I've only got 3 years no claims as I was on a traders insurance so lost them but put it up to 20 years ncb and it was only £200 cheaper so leads me too believe it really is down to the area.

Checked it again under a friends address, one it wasn't insurable as that was in canning Town and the other one was only £380 for the year but they live in Wales in the middle of butt duck nowhere.

Says it all really about London I guess

Adrian Flux used to be really good, particularly for sporty/performance cars.

They really are total crap these days and for the past 10 years have never been competitive for me even with club/website discounts. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE - 'Black Betty'

I know it’s not like for like, but we’re with Admiral on this multi car thing, then I’ve added the house insurance. Our renewal due next week came back £103 cheaper. My RRS is £161 and my wife’s SAAB 93 is £150. We’re both in our 50’s and don’t live in a city. Give them ago. Sounds like because of you live in the smoke, but that’s crazy money. Sounds like that’s the premium for your first car Shocked visiting from www.rrsport.co.uk

So just got of the phone from Dale at A plan and he even said prices simply ain't comparable. Their insurance panel have come back at prices of over £2500.

I'll give admiral a try n see what they can do I guess.

Just try the comparison sites, saves lots of calls.

Good luck Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

Most of them was over £2k. You can get it for silly cheap prices like £750 but they want £1250 excess and the car is covered fully comp but no extras like courtesy car, legal cover etc.

To be honest I think a lot of its down to the area in Dagenham I live in. I'm trying to remain down this way for work etc but just feel like I'm being priced out the area and there's only so long I can do this for. I think after this year tho that's it I'm gonna have too move. I typed my insurance details in for a friends place in Wales. Granted he lives in the middle of butt duck no where in Wales but the insurance then was only £350 so think that says it all
