Wind drone at 80-85 on the autoroute

Set off from Calais on the trip down to La Rochelle, accelerated up to 85 ish and noticed a distinct wind noise at exactly the speed I wanted to cruise at Rolling Eyes

It Stopped with the sun roof open and changed note when I tilted it. At the first service station I stopped and gave the seal a bit of a clean with my finger!

Low and behold the drone disappeared Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

It was a bit crusty looking, looks like the previous chap never opened the roof! Clean your seals boys! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to track down various wind noise on my 04. Haven't noticed any issues with the sunroof so didn't think to look at it. I will try a cleaning.

I had something similar at the same sort of speed which sounded almost like a mechanical whirring (almost like a vacuum pump), it would happen for 5-10 seconds at a time and sounded like it was coming from somewhere near the top front of the roof / pillars.

I haven't been able to eliminate factors for it, but it feels like a wind noise to me, I don't suppose anyone else has had a similar experience with their L322? Current: Range Rover L322 4.4tdv8, Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 2, BMW 535d Touring, Skoda Fabia, BMW S1000XR
