the button that you can move up and down also presses in... Does this do anything different than having the light off?

OK am a bit Confused confused Confused

Am presuming it's an L322 Range Rover..
If it is, then the height adjstment button has one "band" of silver in the middle of a black rocker switch to the left of the Terrain Response Knob.
Top and Bottom Arrow Heads (light up when working) work as UP/DOWN

On mine the button DOES NOT PRESS IN.

Maybe we are talking different buttons, or maybe your FFRR is a differnt model and older/newer switch gear..:
This is mine:

Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 - L405 (now sadly sold)
BMW i3 (fantastic little runabout)
Kioti NX6010 Tractor
Yamaha Big Bear ATV
And a whole heap of other kit...

England 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver

They are talking about the previous non TR model where the height adjustment is made by a rotary dial with a button in the middle.

I have just found out it suspends any auto modes for suspension when the button is pressed and the light is on,

eg... if off road you want it to stay up

Ah that makes sense - is it a P38?

Ah, that explains. I went LR SWB (x 5) DEFENDER 90 (x 6) to early Discovery, to P38 (x 2) to D3 and finally to FFRR L322 in 2008.
Am v.v.v. happy with it and keeping it until it breaks badly...
I obviously missed the era of FFRR with your suspension during my D3 'Breadvan' years
- but do vaguely remember now... Cool Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 - L405 (now sadly sold)
