I know what the megaflush does but what advantage does this have over a standard service in practical terms (which changes most of the oil volume). Does a small % of old oil cause a problem? As a normal service also includes changing the filter it's not the same as doing an engine oil change without changing the engine oil filter. I know 'megaflush' sounds like a good thing but I've yet to hear why an autobox needs flushing (esp as it's not recommended by ZF)? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

The mega flush is slightly different where the new oil is pumped into the gearbox under pressure and the machine sucks the old oil out this now you have the gearbox and torque converter filled with fresh oil.

A "Mega Flush" procedure isn't recommended by ZF, for this exact reason. Not all flushing machines are created equally...

Too much pressure/suction WILL cause damage, but not all machines will cause damage. The cheaper machines have no way to regulate the flow or pressure of the new oil

The top end machines measure flow, pressure and temperature of the outgoing oil, and automatically replaces it with new oil at the same flow and pressure, removing the risk of damage

So, when it comes to a flush, don't be afraid to ask questions Thumbs Up

I had my car done at an official ZF service centre because they change the filter as well and was thinking they somehow did something special.
They got about 6 litres of fluid changed. If I knew they only did what I could have done myself I wouldn't have taken it to them.
