Difficult to value - but keen to hear thoughts

Hello,

I have a 2006 Supercharged in Alveston red. The car has only done 55,000 miles and has a full service history. My insurance renewal is coming up and the indicated value they are talking is £5000 - it should be more than that surely?! Thanks in advance

Condition and milage won't come into it based on average current market prices. My mate motor bike was written off recently they valued it at just £450 cheapest replacement like for like was over £1600 go figure, he is still arguing

Think you will have to get an agreed valuation for insurance, or argue and try and justify your case in the event of a claim…as above…

As to the value…. No idea. I got £5500 trade in for my TD6 in 2016…. But it’s 6 years later and yours isn’t a TD6….

Hi, new to the forum so be gentle !!!! just having bought a 2006 sc i would agree that the £5000 is miserly. we buy any car, autotrader & hpi will provide current values starting at trade levels.

From previous experience you are on a hiding to nothing arguing retrospective valuations on older cars with insurance companies. An agreed valuation is the only way to go with something that is at the top end of the buying range.

hope it helps
