south of france

after 3 years of 'covid' waiting ,i've finally booked a villa in the south of france. Very Happy

i've not done this particuler route before so on a friday afternoon in june, google is saying to go around the paris ringroad ..
i prefer the rouen,dreux,chartres route.

our first stop will be orleans so me thinks my prefered route would be better?

also anyone taken their dogs lately...and tips on the animal health certificate? ... - .- -.

Having been around the Périphérique on a Friday afternoon before, I would say your route would be my chosen option. It's a complete free for all and like driving on a racetrack with people coming from all directions.

I can’t remember what day of the week it was, but I do remember saying “ Why did we come this way ? “
Avoid the ring road like the plague.
Also, I remember the Tarn area , particularly Albi , as being lovely. ..Enjoy.
Cheers

The dozen or so times I’ve done south, I’ve gone Calais, Reims, Dijon, Lyon, Aix en Provence, sunshine…. With a stop in either Reims or Lyon depending on crossing time.

Never been round the ring.

Those directions get you to the Novotel Lyon. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Ditto NMJ, mainly because we liked Dijon whenever we could get there by about 6pm. for our overnight stop.

The only time I went round the ring was because I wanted to see the Millau bridge viaduct., but it was horrific getting around Paris.
