Speedo cluster repair - needle came loose

Hi

I tried yesterday to replace the LCD-strip on my speedo cluster on my 2002 4.4i. Got everything together and tried it in the car and nothing worked. So I took it back inside to try and find out what was wrong. By accident I managed to pull the speedoneedle out, with part of the spring. So that needs to be replaced. Have anyone here done this job?

A few folk in the E39 world have used http://www.clusterrepairsuk.co.uk to repair the fault you've created (no affiliation and I've never personally used them)

The E39/E38/E53 cluster design was used on the early L322 (02-05) so parts are readily available.
