What can be retrofitted to an L405?

Hi All,

As a (relatively) new owner of a lovely L405 4.4TD with a spec I couldn't turn down, but not _all_ of the toys, the question is what can be retrofitted?
Has anyone tried simply enabling Lane Keeping Assist with an IID box? - It is in the 'untested' list of things to play with, so I am a bit reticent to simply 'poke-and-hope'
What about traffic sign recognition?
Do either of these require additional modules? - I can't see any listed in the workshop manual? Is it a different mirror/interior camera setup to the High Beam Assist that my car has?
What about the Head Up Display? All of the data it presents will be on the CAN bus, so I assume that this should simply plug-and-pray (after another tweak with the IID box from GAP)

Someone will/must/should have played with enabling these items one their car before me - or am I to be the guinea pig?

W. 2017 - L405 SC - WOW! just WOW!
2014 - L405 4.4
2010 - L322 3.6 - Carried me 100,581 miles then broke big-time

There are 10 types of people in this world;
Those that understand binary,
and those that don't.

Could be an interesting thread indeed, if you get some sensible replies Smile

I'd certainly be interested to see if the Activity Band thingy is a retrofit item? Whilst my key is not that bulky, most of my running gear doesn't have pockets so its a bit of a faff having to run with my car keys. 1st-world problems I know! Current

lane assist would probably need extra cameras,

traffic sign recognition i think works of the sat nav poi's..???

HUD would need a projector and an infra red windscreen with the special bit that reflects the projectors info.

I've also wondered about the Activity Key. Especially as I had a new key made by the dealer recently - I wondered whether they could have done the Activity Key at the same time. 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

The thing I forgot to spec was Remote Climate (not the app one), the one with the fuel burner. I retro fitted a Disco4 and wonder if it can be done and at what cost? All LR cars from 1984

I’m wondering that about the park heater as well. Parts wise it should be easy, however the wiring loom seems to be missing some of the required cables and for MY17 on, editing the CCF hasn’t been sorted yet.

Hi guys you can have the activity key with wristband retrofitted.
It requires an extra module to be added and programming.
It costs in Australian dollars around $ 2000.
so very expensive. However the dealers can do it.

Activity key

I have an 18my RR and fancy an activity key but am I correct in thinking that there is a module to be fitted too?
I was hoping just to buy the key!
If I need a module any ideas on cost of that in the U.K.?

Thanks for the reply Robin but I’m keeping out of the bat cave due to COVID scare!
However does it require the extra fitment of a module?

I don’t know Dave, I haven’t pursued this as I’m not sure the use of the activity bands limited use would interest my customers! If it were more like an Apple Watch then yes but being more like a changing room magnet from a sports centre! No... 👍
