Wireless Charging Pad Mod

Ok not really a mod but I've fitted a wireless charging pad in the void under the cup holders. This model from Amazon fits in perfectly without the outer rubber holder:

https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09B...&psc=1

I've glued the cable onto the bottom of the pad to keep it neat and then glued a foam pad over that. Seems to work fine even with a bumper case on my phone and nothing moves or rattles.

Definitely not as convenient as ones that fit in cup holders etc but I would only ever use this on long journeys and I hate seeing cables so worth the inconvenience for me.

this is good Thumbs Up

I never realised there was anything ''under' the cup holders Shocked SO have you abandoned the actual cup holders and just use the space for charging phones now? FFRR SDV8 Autobiography

Hi James, I will just put the phone in on long journeys and then just slide the cup holder back to use them. I wont bother on short trips. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

For iPhone there is this adapter that we are successfully using for both our JLR cars:

For Android Auto there are some solutions, but I haven't verified them...

Stan the Powerful UK one is 13>17 only I'm afraid, I did email them to see if they were going to do a 2018+ version but they don't have any plans to do so. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Does the ACP dongle mean you can just leave the phone in your pocket and it pairs? All LR cars from 1984

Yes, in 30-40 seconds after opening the door it pairs without removing it from the pocket.
That being said, a charging pad is useful for longer trips...

The dongle has a USB out... To which a wireless charging pad could be connected...
