Thats a very cheap Glass Mat Battery at £36, they are usually nearer the £200 mark.

Hi guys,

Just been exposed to one of the biggest rip offs at a stealer in York that you may be interested in. My car is in for a major service including timing belt. I ask them to check out the start stop function which has stopped working. They wanted £120 to run diagnostics which I reluctantly agreed to. They then called me to say that the problem is the secondary battery and they want a further £426 to replace it. So total cost for the battery replacement £546. I have declined this and have ordered a replacement Exide battery from Amazon for £39.00 and will changed it myself.

£426 instead of £39 for en effin battery Thud AND.. £120 for five minutes of diagnostic checks Censored

The free cup of coffee from the fancy machine in the waiting area now looks to be very, very expensive!!!!!

As an aside, when you help yourself to a coffee at the main dealer, when wearing a boiler suit ( I was picking up some spares I had ordered ) some of the looks you get are priceless, well, what is one to do whilst waiting, after all, I was spending about £35 that day Whistle

EDIT - Pre-covid, they had bowls of sweeties lying around, so now that regulations are being relaxed I will have to start fitting my jacket with 'poachers pockets'
