Agree with you Phil, I think Carpathian is very classy! We've ordered the P510e AB in Carpathian and Perlino, and most likely we'll go for the Natural Brown Silver Birch, or possibly the Natural Black Birch...
Here is a picture (not 100% correct colour mapping) from our visit to the dealer this week, looking at the samples :

We've been a bit undecidable on the AB Exterior pack vs the Shadow pack, but leaning to select the AB exterior pack.
My hope is that it will be possible to add a set of 23" 1075 wheels later.

I thought this was Carpathian Grey but it is the same reg as a car on an earlier post which is clearly Charente Grey.

Eirik34 I think Carpathian over Perlino will look very classy! Thanks for photographing the samples.

Did they have a sample for Hakuba Silver and if so how would you describe it? Appears on the blue side in photographs whereas that Italian video makes it look more of a warm silver.

Interesting we are all struggling to pinpoint the right colour. As Flying Trotter, Ledlight and others have pointed out it is the black rear lighting strips that are the challenge - how best to coordinate with them. I am sure when we see some more real cars the best choices will become clearer, and I suspect that colours that have stood the test of time will continue to work well.

As it is I prefer a different colour every day. Today it is Sunset Gold Satin. Has anyone seen this on a car? I’d love to know what you think!

Yes I've seen it Freddy....... It was originally my first choice, but I think it's a bit too gold for my liking. That said, like you, I do keep occasionally reconsidering it.

For me, the two main factors that made me dismiss it, was firstly, you can only get it on the First Edition model, which comes with rear entertainment built into the cost (and the only passengers in the back will be our dogs, so that's a waste of money).

Secondly, it's maintenance. If you get a light scratch on a metallic paint, it'll usually just polish out - Not with the satin!!

Also, you have to ensure you remove any dead insects etc as a matter of urgency, as these can cause markings, and again cannot be polished out later.

There are products you can buy to help, but it will require much more care. Also, what would normally be a relatively simple correction, could lead to a panel needing a respray.

You may find these two links about satin paint helpful:

I definitely prefer it without privacy and snip snip it did look nice actually with clear glass, .

The joy of clear glass is you see natures true colours. Autumn is much nicer Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

I think the green on the forecourt there is Aintree Green. I don’t think the current BRG was available on that age of car, only spectral BRG which was completely different.

Loire blue has more of a silver fleck in it than Portofino which makes it look more sparkly in the sun. Constellation is very dark and looks almost black until it’s in sunlight and then it is a rich deep blue with a violet tinge. Portofino was my first spec, but then I saw it on the L460 at my dealer and was disappointed. It just looks a bit flat and mainstream to me. It doesn’t do the car any favours in my opinion. Add to this, all the silver atlas plastic trim on the front really stands out and looks a bit cheap. The lighter colours look better with the Atlas trim. I am keen to see one in the metal with the shadow pack. As the shadow is grey rather than silver it may take the edge off the contrast with a dark colour without looking gangster like a black pack.

I have never had so much trouble choosing a colour for a car. I usually know what I want immediately and am happy when I get it.

I All

This is my first post since 2014 when I bought my L405, TDV6 HSE, Aintree Green. From what I remember the choice of colours were at that time, the colour of that L405 in the car park is most probably Aintree Green.

Thanks LeunamRR, that's helpful on the green.

Good point Bill about seeing nature. I don't much care for look of privacy glass but I like the way it prevents anyone seeing what is in the back of the car.

And thanks aja500. I hadn't thought much about maintenance. Living among fields a mile down a muddy track perhaps the satin finish isn't ideal. My black 5.0 gets cleaned once a year whether it needs it or not 🙂

By the way I don't think you get rear screens on the SWB P510e First Edition, but even so I take your point that it comes with things you may not value, and the satin paint is hardly free.

What do you think of Lantau Bronze?

Having previously had Stornaway, Orkney, Corris, and more latterly Carpathian, I naturally went for Carpathian when configuring my 460. However a very helpful LR technician (Ben) suggested I look at Eiger, as the contours of the new car are hardly visible in the darker colours. And he was right. Order changed to eiger.

I think Eiger grey will look great Badger. There are some pics earlier in this thread, and I think this is Eiger grey too.

Distant shots of Belgravia Green - it is photographing very different to how the sample looks.

I've ordered Lantau Bronze. Originally spec'd Batumi Gold but changed it.
