United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 V8 Santorini Black
L460 Dealer viewing

Just back from Grange Barnett - I put my order in in December but good to see the vehicles in the metal tonight

After seeing various posts about people slicing lumps out of their heads on the L405 tailgate great to see you can adjust how high it opens and seems a lot safer

I made a few tweaks to the spec - santorini black changed to carpathian grey, added some diamond turned wheels and changed the interior trim from the gloss black to the black birch wood - didn’t like the images on line but seeing it in the vehicle really liked it

A few have mentioned the seating position - I agree I sat a little lower and there was a bit less headroom but I didn’t find it off putting - like the whole cabin environment and the dog will like the additional boot space for his TransK9 cage

All in all came back very happy - looking forward to having a drive in one of their demonstrators when they arrive

Hey FlyingTrotter, I was also at Grange Barnet. They do look good in person. Cabin’s quite different, very comfortabble.

I ordered in November paperwork says estimated September delivery though dealer was hoping for a summer delivery.

We deposited (£1k) on official launch day - can’t spec until launch of PHEV, does anyone have any idea of the current lead times on the PHEV model ?

We are @ the dealers on Saturday, so hopefully we will find out a bit more then….

Thanks all
I’ve been offered a car the dealer wants £1500 deposit. Which I’m ok with but he says it’s
Non refundable Which I’m not happy with until I can test drive one. Is this the norm ? I’m totally
New to r r. And this will be my 1st one.

Non-refundable deposits aren't really permitted. The dealer will not be able to demonstrate they've incurred a loss as if you didn't take the vehicle, they'd easily be able to sell it. I'd pop it on your credit card too.

FYI - my dealer didn't request a deposit (and never has). Weirdly some brands like Porsche insist on £5k deposits.

I'm in the same boat. Put a £1k deposit on launch day but can't spec until launch of PHEV. My dealer assures me that I'm near the top of the queue, despite not having actually spec'd a car yet, but I can't say I'm 100% convinced!

I asked dealer about lead time of PHEV vs diesel / petrol and he said that he expected it to make no difference. If that is the case, why did they delay the launch of the PHEV on the configurator? 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

Thanks for the insight - looks like we are both in the same dealer boat, wouldn’t trust any of them to be fair 😂😂

My dealer has said the same, we are high up the list for the PHEV but who knows…… we are physically looking at the new car on Saturday and will try to find out a bit more then.

Have you had a look around one as yet ? What did you think ?

We are looking at PHEV 400 HSE or going full PHEV 500 Autobiography- depending on actual cost !!

Where you are in the queue is not necessarily the whole story. LR will build cars in the order that suits them. If your spec has elements in it which are affected by any shortage in parts due to the current bottlenecks then your build may slip. Also, they will build the specs with the greatest margin first while there is a supply/demand constraint. Any dealer which gives out dates at the moment is just making them up in my opinion. They have no idea until the car starts rolling down the line.

It's not just JLR either. I ordered a BMW M3 in June last year and was quoted an October delivery. I am still waiting now even though some people who put orders in later than me have taken delivery months ago.

Just asked the business manager at dick Lovett and he confirmed the £1500 deposit is non refundable
