Disable Keyless Entry P400e - any suggestions, please? Fixed

Dear All,

The recent posts prompted me finally to turn off keyless entry on my 2019 VSE P400e, but it doesn't seem possible using the 'three headlights and unlock' method all over the internet.

I get the headlights on-off-on then a 4-way indicator flash, not the silent change in the PowerfulUK videos.

I've tried ignition off, ignition on, mains plugged-in, mains not plugged-in, door open, door closed and combinations of all of these.

I hope I'm not being dim but anyone got any suggestions please? Dealer doesn't seem to want to call me back.

Took me a few goes to it to work if that helps. Quicker presses of the headlights and lock key seemed to be my issue. With door open and ignition off. Hope that helps 2013 L405 AB 4.4SDV8 Luxor/Ivory, 2007 Vogue TDV8 Epson Green/Sand, 2008 Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue/Sand, 2003 Vogue 4.4 LPG Epsom Green/Sage, 1998 Vogue SE 4.6 LPG Epsom Green/Cream

So, the driver door MUST be left open during the procedure, ignition off and the keyfob pressing must be done INSIDE the car!

Press headlights icon on the remote 3 times then quickly the unlock icon to disable.

Press headlights icon on the remote 3 times then quickly the lock icon to reenable.

There is no flashing or beeping indication of the change.

That’s exactly what I’ve done!

But when I get inside, door open, ignition off, I press the button and my headlights turn on off on in response to the three presses, even done quickly and the 4-way indicator flash happens when I press the unlock button.

Which is sort of what you’d expect, only I know it should produce a different result.

I did it to mine standing outside and it worked.

Just to round this off, I found that if I unlocked and opened the driver’s door and waited about 30 secs, then did the key press thing, it worked.
Headlights flashed but keyless entry was disabled.
Maybe all the electronics need time to boot up 🤷‍♂️

Thanks all for suggestions.
