1 year in…what to check keep an eye on…

It’s been about a year since I picked up our fatty with 75k on the clock. I have kept a close eye on the normal stuff, so regular oil and filter changes (both sump plugs), all the other oils and fluids changed including cooling system and gearbox… wire brushed and POR15 on rear subframe and suspension arms, small amount of wheel arch rust was caught early and nipped in the bud. Lanogaurd all over. Fuel filter, air filter, all brake discs, pads, epb pads changed. Boot well dry no leaks, electrical gremlins all checked for and dealt with as necessary. FBH serviced and fitted with remote SIM card operation…

So one year later and about 10k miles (85k miles now) she is performing well with no issues or mysterious bongs (touch wood!)

On my list I do have brake fluid flush… but wondering if there is anything else that I need to watch or keep an eye on… I have checked the MAP but it all looked pretty clean in there… which compared with our disco 3 of similar age / mileage was a pleasant surprise…

(This is what the disco throttle body and inlet manifolds looked like) when I cracked it open for a look…

Lovely, best colour together with santorine and Barolo in my opinion. And lovely to see another well behaved handsome hound. Ours does the same...

With TDV8 3.6 the EGR valves are the main worry. Many would say at this mileage / age you should change them as preventative maintenance. Preventative being to avoid destroying your turbos. Others may also suggest blanking / disabling them. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

If I had a 3.6 I'd be blanking the EGRs physically and electronically as a priority and remap it at same time for a bit more poke. Ian Bodsworth can do the lot on your drive.
