4.4 TDV8 coolant leak.

I've been trying to track down a coolant leak for about a year now and finally found it. I cobbled together an old pressure tester and modified an expansion tank cap and pumped a bit of pressure in. I can see water dripping from the engine side of the top hose. I'm getting a new expansion tank and some coolant and hope I've finally cracked it.

That’s good then. I thought you were gonna say that little connection near the top of the radiator that always breaks, but then you would have seen that easily.....

Gonna try my best to not break it mate. I've got a spare top hose up to that joint from the engine side so much care will be the order of the day.

Did a new top hose fix that coolant loss Kev? Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Yes mate. I put a new expansion tank on as well, because it was filthy inside, and I can now see a nice steady level.
