Apparently my upper brake light is barely legal. It currently has just 10 of the 20 LEDs working and if one more blows then it will be an MOT failure. Does anyone know if it is possible to repair these rather than fork out £130 for a new replacement?

they can be taken apart but then you'll have to find a light with a broken lens or such to get the led part...ebay regularly have these units for sale, you might find a bargain. ... - .- -.
