Mot fail

Well that's a kick in the face but that's life I guess. Now time too get the easier jobs done and get the garage too do the welding. Think I can safely say the previous mot was a bent one as even the tester questioned how it past last year with out a single issue and this is the list for this year.

So where would you go to get this list of parts except for the arches and welding

That's not good, I'd get quotes for the welding before anything else, make sure it's worthwhile, to do it properly is an awful lot of work...... Big Cry Pete

I'm going to get it done as I plan on keeping this one as it does everything I need and saves me having too keep a transit van that's capable of pulling 3.5ton behind me. Garage I used for the other range rover have already said they will do the work. Unfortunately I just don't have the money this month so will be going in for the welding work around the 24th January so figured well now I've got some time, I might as well get the arms done, possibly the front arms and the brakes done.

Everything I've seen online, it would appear that it's a drive shaft removal job so figured if I can order the parts tomorrow, hopefully if it turns up for Friday I can start on it Saturday

Looks like I'll be on this for time being

One thing that bugs me is this. What's peoples opinions on using these parts. Going by the top one given 411 people have bought these, are they recommended or just an easy "pass an mot" setup.

I know delphi have a good reputation so I'd prob go for these if I wasn't too go for land rover parts.

Any thoughts folks

Tbh I've never been a fab of replacing parts that will need doing again in a year or so. I'd rather the job done properly but I'll always look around at least at aftermarket parts

Delphi should be OK they are an OEM for Land Rover...

The only problem you have is ensuring they are genuine and not fake parts, if the seller has a good lengthy feedback I suppose they will be OK..

Don't buy made brake pipes, use nickel-copper alloy pipes and make your own... Thumbs Up Pete

Would you trust any of the sites such as lr trade parts, island 4×4, British parts etc.

I've seen some of their stuff and it seems too come in pretty cheap. Almost too cheap for my liking

Yikes, is that your 4.2?

I’ve got the itch for another car again and I keep looking at 5.0’s but with the amount of corrosion that’s starting to bite on the L322’s I’m reluctant to do anything unless it’s a car I can go over with a tooth comb first.

Yes it is sadly. Its a lot more work then it appears as everything is doubled up. I'm just debating on do I do a complete suspension rebuild so both front arms and the ball joints or do I just replace what's actually needed.

I'm not too worried about the welding as these guys are pretty good with it when they done my other one but ideally I'd like too get all these parts fitted before hand so it's less labour too fork out. They've already said genuine land rover arms with fitting I'm looking at around £350 per arm so I'm thinking of just getting the delphi arm kit, new bolts, nuts for around £250 and do it all myself.

So including brake pads being Ferrados it's a total of just over £300 for the whole lot. If I take the other option and only replace what's needed then I'm looking at around the £200 as I'll replace the nuts and bolts all round

If you’re thinking of keeping it for the long term then I guess doing both sides makes sense as it’ll likely not need doing again.

You’d only need to get the alignment checked once afterwards too.

The rear corrosion is it jus the rear subframe? If so can you get a used one form a newer car? This is a real weak point in these I looked at a good 5 or 6 of similar ages before I found my 07 most of them looked like they’d been parked in salt water with dodgy mots Current stable:
