Sadly, now that my independent specialist of choice, Holgate Vehicle Services, has called it a day, I'm looking for any recommendations for a replacement. Has anyone used 'The Lanny Man' in St Helens, who seem to be the nearest to me? Although he's less than 6 miles from home (Ashton-in-Makerfield), there's no direct bus route, so it's a 3-mile walk followed by a 45-minute round the houses bus journey to get home, with a repeat trip to collect my vehicle. Ideally, I'd like a specialist who can either do a 'pick-up and drop off', or provide a courtesy car, as we're a one car, one driver household, but I'll put up with some inconvenience for a superior service.

Just a thought have you tried The Vogue center? I think they are in Wigan, which could be what you're looking for although they are sales, James knows FFRR inside and out?
