Retro fit Aux Input

Hi guys, new to this forum but owned many, many RR's over the years.

Anyway, we have a 2006MY FFRR which has the Jag engine, new front end, touch screen Nav, etc, but it has the older style dash without terrain response and crucially no Aux input anywhere.

The car is a 4.4 V8 Vogue, but in my other newer 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE this has an Aux Input behind the centre console, so I can plug in an iPod via a headphone jack lead.

I just wondered if there is anyway of retro-fitting this set up to my other earlier RR. Will the wiring be there under the console and is it just a question of doing a bit of choping and soldering?

Or is there an easier way of modifying the wiring so that I can link a headphone jack cable into the Sat Nav/Audio system.

Any help much appreciated.

Factory Pilot,

Ditto... I've exactly the same vehicle and the same problem. I spoke to a guy about a month ago that sold an ipod/mp3/audio conversion system (v similar to a Denison 500: which apparently isn't compatible with FFRR) and was to fit and test one - but never got back to me.

Sorry I can't be of any help presently.

Wouldn't it be easier to buy one of those convertors that plugs into your iPod and generates an FM signal, so that you just tune your radio into the frequency it generates and so can play it through your sound system? Or do you want something more permanent? Maplin do one for £70 but they are as cheap as £20 for a basic one.
