Heater fan not working

Well it had to happen almost exactly one year of trouble free ownership and after sitting for 10 days due to me isolating I get in the car today and it was cold even though I’d pressed the pre heat that I heard start up, driving along I notice we’re steaming up the bloody fan doesn’t work on any settings the rear one is ok and there are two fault codes, I’m hoping it has nothing to do with the screen being replaced before Christmas, any ideas I’m going to look at fuses etc once I’ve defrosted 😂

I can only speak of earlier cars however it's possibly the same on the 2010/2012 cars. The final stage resistor can cause the fan to act erratically including not at all. See the video in the link, ignore the left side steering wheel, its in the same place for the RHD.  2007 TDV8 VSE

Mine stopped working once and then started working again. Odd eh?
See if it improves over next few days. I've seen those codes on mine but clear them Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

My advice would be to make sure you exhaust every alternative before undertaking fan replacement.

Check the fuses, try some electrical cleaner on the motor (involves removing the cabin air filter box etc) then the fsr.

Fan replacement involves removing much of the upper dash. The replacement fan isn't expensive, but the time it take to replace would e at a dealers.

Thanks for the replies, unfortunately its not great news, on the 2012 there is no mention in the handbook or any of the fuse boards for the front blower fan fuse or relay which is dammed annoying i pulled all the fuses for the rear and everything is ok, so i got a new genuine FSR and swapped it, and still nothing Censored Censored Censored im now looking at replacing the fan but before i do can anyone confirm how easily the fan spins by hand on a known working model, or anything else i need to look for before stripping out the dash 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8

If I’m not mistaken the front fuse board for 2002 to 2012 cars are the same ( ? ) in which case you need to look at Fuse 34 7.5A. It’s marked Airconditioning, Blower. Front windscreen.
As l don’t have a 2012 car l may be mistaken but definitely worth a look.
The blower fan will definitely have a fuse. Thumbs Up

Fuse 34 in my car has a symbol for the petrol / diesel pump so im assuming its the filler cap fuse

To simplify matters just check every 5A and 7.5A fuse on the front fuse board, there aren’t that many.
