So what's AEB for then??

I ask...because I was a muppet today and ran into the back of someone. Hand up, my fault...it happened. But I've been thinking, this was in town speed moving traffic - maybe 25mph tops - and I wasn't tailgating. So I react slowly to a sudden indicator right and them stopping in the middle of the road. But it was an '11 Fiesta. Its braking wouldn't be as sophisitcated as a fatty... and I did eventually react when there was still a gap and brake hard plus I'm supposed to have AEB and ABS. How come the car didn't stop? No it wasn't icy or wet. Around 8degrees but dry. Just seems like another totally naff "driver aid" - never needed it before and didn't do anything for me when I did need it! Mike - MPx

Doesnt work in every circumstance im afraid Mike...

Then when you have seen the car turning left and you know you have bags of room it'll stamp the brakes on! Go figure...

Much damage?

You need to enable it --AEB automatically switches on, every time the vehicle’s ignition is switched on.

If required, AEB can be switched off via the Driver Assistance menu in the instrument panel. See INSTRUMENT PANEL MENU. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue
